Boston, first incorporated as a town in 1630, and as a city in 1822, is one of America's oldest cities, with a rich economic and social history. It is known all around the world for it’s high education and prestigious universities.
From the moment you arrive, it is notable that this city is enriched by the diversity of people that is mainly formed by students. It shows an environment that makes people from all over the world come together and create a unique and unforgettable undergraduate or graduate experience. Boston is home to 35 colleges, universities and community colleges. From the year of 1989 to 2010, the student population increased from 130,000 to 150,000. Education in Boston is the fourth source of jobs in the city, keeping a balance between learning and earning.

Cambridge is the leading academic community in the U.S. since it provides the most promising educational experience that comes along Harvard University and MIT. But as everything exceptional in life, comes with a higher price. Harvard is the oldest University of the country and has a world renowned reputation for giving students the opportunity not to become the person who has a job, the person who has professional career. The most outstanding major provided is law. MIT,The Massachusetts Institute of Technology or the BostonTec, is one of the most influential universities in the subjects of math, earth sciences and most importantly, technology.
The Boston University is currently an important center for energy and environmental studies. Nevertheless, it offers to major in the arts, sciences, communication, hospitality, administration, management, law, medicine, technology, social work, etcetera. It is the forth largest private university in the country and it goes across the Commonwealth street.
Melissa, a current undergraduate studying at the School Education in BU said-“I feel BU gives you lots of opportunities to get into the water of what you are going to work in. By working with different levels of education and observing in a classrooms I’ve learned a lot more than just memorizing, I’ve experienced my field by involving.” Melissa is participating as a Personal Assistant at the Summer Challenge program for high schoolers. At the end, she added, “I chose BU because I like the city; I think you never get bored, there’s too many things to do”.
Another perk of Boston our interviewed pointed out was its transportation. A lot of students have congratulated the system for its practically and easy to use T-Lines, bike roads and conscious driving. Security has been highly rated as efficient and graduated students come out prepared for what the world offers. “Basically, it has everything a college/university student is looking for.” commented Victoria, current Resident Assistant at the Warren Towers in BU.
